Testimony from Retired Non-Commissioned Officer

Brain Training

S.R.
Retired Non-Commissioned Officer with 20 Years in the Army

One of the first things I noticed was how willing my brain was to being trained. I have had practice in the area of self empowerment and stress reduction techniques before but this was the first time I could see the results by looking at the different brain wave patterns I was producing while setting my intention through visualization and breathing techniques. For the first time I was able to see my brain and my brain was able to see itself. This combination of visual and auditory cues helped me raise and lower different brain wave patterns in different regions of my brain.

For the first few days the only thing I noticed was that I was exhausted from the training. Almost as if I had run or lifted weights. I slept very deeply and felt more at peace with myself as the trainings progressed. I have always had a good sense of balance in my life but this training has taken me to a new level of feeling and understanding the connection between my brain and how my body reacts together. I am looking forward to going home and seeing results in the areas I selected to improve.

One thing is very clear to me. How we perceive ourselves and what we allow to be stored in our brains and bodies effects how we live our lives and what kind of experience we will have.

For me this experience has created a desire in me to master my experiences and not become a victim to them. I am looking forward to helping bring this technology to the Department of Defense, the Department of Veterans affairs and the Nation at large as a way to regain control and recover from adverse life experiences. If you are a combat veteran who wants to regain mastery of your mind and body I encourage you to contact the nearest BST representative in your area. This training is non-invasive and is more like a performance enhancing application to optimize you’re your brain and body.

You will like it.”

Brain Training Helping Child with Autism Succeed

Brain Training

School WorkS.J.
Mother

My name is S. and I have a 7 year old that Judy Davis worked with on the Brain State program.  My son was Autistic and I was not clear about his problem until he went to Kindergarten (2007).  I had Judy use the Ultimate Brain State with him based on some information received by a friend who had used the program.  My son didn’t speak to people nor play with children because he didn’t understand what they said.

When he was evaluated by the school he was talking to himself, walking around the school yard saying things over and over to himself, he couldn’t be still and listen to the teacher, nor could he take instructions – only if he was shown pictures or had an individual sit with him and tell him exactly what he was suppose to do.  His entire life changed after Brain State.  He is now in the 1st grade and he is reading quite well, math is exceptional, he now play with the other children and understand what  they are saying to him and dialogue with complete sentences. He is much calmer, funny and can finish all his homework along.  He is an exceptional child and the teacher says he’s helping the children in his class in some subjects.  My son changed school’s after Kindergarten and the new school read the special IEP’s that was sent with him to the new school and said this must be a mistake because he is nothing like the report forwarded.  Great news after 3 months in the new school (his progress report card parent meeting) he no longer needed the services provide as recommended, he only needed help in 2 areas sentence structure and writing.  The school’s assistant Principal and his 4 teachers agreed he is ready to be in his regular classroom for 90% of the time and tutoring in writing and sentence structure formation would be areas he would need help with. This program changed my son’s life and I think a lot of people can benefit from this program long term.  I hope this will help you and whomever you are thinking about for Brain State.

Dealing with Migraines

Brain Training

Migraine
Business Person

“For over 25 years I have been trying to find freedom from debilitating Migraine headaches. I had tried everything, including strong drugs, dietary changes, exercise hypnotherapy, acupuncture, herbals, positive thinking, homeopathics and energy work. Many of things I tried seem to help at least partially, but I was never able to get the big breakthrough. The migraines would always come back.

After 30 sessions of Brain State Training with Brain Balance Technologies, I felt a big shift in the way that my mind and nervous system processed stress. I felt much more calm and at peace. It has been over 3 months since my training was completed. I have had a 95% reduction in the number of migraines that I have had. The freedom of living without the fear of the Migraines is absolutely priceless to me. I love Brain State training and recommend it as highly as I can.”

“From Eeyore to Tigger”

Brain Training

I didn’t know what to expect when I started the sessions at The Evolutionary Brain.  When I walked in the door I was coming with many issues: depression, chronic pain, stress, a lack of confidence, motivation and direction.  I felt like I had given up on life. I was in constant pain for 2 years following a bad car accident where I was left with a compressed spine and numbness in my elbow and hand. I had to sleep with many pillows to prop myself up so I wouldn’t experience severe pressure in my head and increased numbness in my arm and hand. I suffered from bouts of insomnia. I was dealing with an addiction to sugar. I have Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome which brings a host of symptoms: water retention, weight gain, irregular menstruation (lack of to excess), depression and hormonal imbalances, to name a few.

After my very first session there was a noticeable calmness, I felt good.  After the first day my spine realigned itself and I was standing up straighter. I had a 20% decrease of numbness in my hand and my elbow has full range of motion as does my neck. Something I had not experienced since before the car accident. I slept with only one pillow. I slept soundly to wake up refreshed ready to start the day with clarity and a positive out look on life.

The following days brought new vitality to my well being. Here is a list of the noticeable improvements.

  • I have a stronger sense of smell and taste.
  • My vision has improved. My eyes don’t get as blurred from long days.
  • I have lost my urge to eat sugar.
  • My heart and lungs feel stronger.
  • I have full range of motion in my neck and elbow.
  • My posture has improved. After my 3rd day I had to readjust my rear view mirror because I was sitting taller.
  • I wake up feeling very refreshed as if I had just walked a few miles.
  • My joints feel lubricated. No more aching knees or elbows.
  • I have better balance.
  • My depression is gone.
  • I am more productive. I am motivated to take action.
  • I am prioritizing my time and accomplishing my goals.
  • I am falling asleep faster and waking up refreshed, ready to start the day.
  • I can concentrate with less distractions.
  • I can focus and listen better during conversations, my mind isn’t wandering.
  • 50% decreased numbness in my hand.
  • My family and friends noticed an immediate shift in my posture, attitude and stress level. They say I am calm and that I am the person that they knew me to be a few years ago before more resent traumas in my life.
  • I feel the way I did in my early 20’s. (I am now 40)

I can’t wait to see what will happen in the next month.

Far and away one of the best investments of my all around health. I have been recommending this to all of my friends. It changed my life beyond words.

A YEAR LATER AND A SECOND ROUND OF BST.

The reason I had a second round of BT was for pain management.

I noticed a decrease in my pain level. I retrained the benefits and changes from my first set of sessions a year ago. I would say that after a year and a second round of brain training I noticed that my intuition and sixth sense has been sharpened. I am much more acute and sensitive in a very positive way.

I have noticed a huge shift in the way I look at life and handle myself in regards to past traumas that had emotionally paralyzed me in certain aspects of my life. I have been able to heal and move foreword instead of being stuck going around in circles with the same issues.

  • My vocabulary has increased.
  • My intellect has sharpened without any study.
  • I am accomplishing more long term goals.
  • I am completely off of sugar and I do not crave it.
  • I am an energy worker and my clients have noticed that I am more intoned and that they are receiving a more powerful treatment from me.
  • I feel grounded.
  • My sleeping has been even more restful. I am still waking up refreshed and ready to go.
  • I have been able to handle extreme stresses in my life with a calm disposition and outlook.
  • My personal relationships have been better, I believe from my out look on life. I am calmer, centered, and clear.
  • My life has been transformed in many ways from BST, I feel a sense of deep inner peace and acceptance of what life brings to my door step.

A wonderful and very easy way to treat issues in any area of your life. A very quick way to heal yourself of long term traumas, discomforts and issues.  A seemingly effortless way to completely change your life for the better.”

The capacity for some giant stepping”

Brain Training

StepsFounder of Project Return

“I have experienced two weeks of Brain State Trainings since July of 2006 plus a one-day session to improve my sleep quality. Without a doubt, they are among the most significantly healing and balancing experiences of my life. Though I do not believe this training can replace the traditional struggles for healing the wounds of our pasts, Brain State offers the capacity for some “giant stepping” along that journey.

By the second day of the first week, I knew the outcome would be positive. I simply began to feel better, more alive, after each session. By the end of those five days, there was an enhanced clarity about my life, a sense of well-being and peacefulness. I noticed that I could see colors more vividly and, though I didn’t take an eye exam, felt certain that even my visual acuity had improved.

Then, there was the single day of two sessions for sleep deprivation that, for me, were particularly important. There was literally an immediate and considerable improvement which, to this day, has not diminished, and I have not concerned myself about sleeplessness since.

Though I am far from understanding this technology, it seems that my second week of training was more focused on balancing the processes of my brain. The protocols took me deeper into those progressions which theretofore had led me into anxiety and hypertension. As the week evolved, it seemed as though I could accomplish in an hour-and-a-half session what would normally require a week-long retreat. The clarity I had found during the first week seemed to blend into an eloquence of design and confidence about the journey I have chosen to take through my “elder years.”

Golf

B.N., 53

“Life is hell, but golf game isn’t. Thought I’d bring you up to date with what’s happening with my golf game. There must be a long term residual effect from your program. We haven’t seen each other for a few months, but my golf game continues to improve. If memory serves me, when we started my handicap was around a 12. Think it got down to about a 9 at the end of the year. Currently, as of 4/1 it’s at an 8.3, and I expect it to be under an 8 when the new ones come out in May. Hitting the ball great off the tee. Irons are better than they were, and putting has significantly improved. Not missing many short ones, and it’s not unusual for me to make at least one or two 20 footers in a round. I think I’ve only been over 81 twice in about the last 12-15 rounds.

I’ve noticed that I seem to get “in the zone” more often and stay there longer. About 3 weeks ago, I had a 34 (2 under) on the front 9 at Palm Valley. Then of course I started thinking about the score rather than the next shot and immediately shot a 42 on the back. Still, 76 ain’t bad.”

Nov 23Testimony dealing with Stroke

older_coupleJ.A.
Construction Company Owner

“I suffered a stroke in April 2007. I could not walk without assistance. I always leaned to the left; I could not maintain my balance. I had pressure behind my left eye socket and could barely see out of my left eye. I also had a great deal of trouble sleeping. I thought that the life that I had built for myself and my family was over. My business was suffering which caused me to become depressed. My friend Art, who would come and see me every other day in the hospital told me about this new technology that he was going to Scottsdale for training, could possibly help me. He had asked the therapist while I was in rehab one day how long would it take someone to recover fully from a stroke like I had suffered. The therapist told him anywhere from 8 to 12 months minimum depending on the individual.

Art came back from Scottsdale training the first week in June. I was his first client on June 8, 2007 before he had opened up to the public. He would come and pick me up everyday and take me in for Brain State Conditioning.

After my seventh session (4 days) I was able to stand up straight and walk unassisted in a walker and I started sleeping better. After my thirteenth session I was walking without a walker, I was using a cane. The pressure behind my left eye socket and the left side of my head had decreased greatly. I could see better out of my left eye than I could before I had the stroke. I felt much calmer. I didn’t let things bother me anymore the way that I use to. After about two and a half weeks of BSC I was able to walk on my own without any assistance whatsoever. I was so amazed and was such a believer in this technology. After about 4 weeks of BSC, not the 8 to 12 months that the therapist had said. I am happy to report that I am back driving and more importantly I played 18 holes of golf just 2 days ago. Shot a 94.

There are no words that can describe how I feel right now. I told my friend Art that he saved my life! He told me that I saved my life by believing that I could get better by doing BSC. I now have my life back. Thank you Art for all that you have done for me and my family. Thank you for bringing this technology at a time when it was so desperately needed.”

Introduction
Psychiatric disorders such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and depression, particularly major depressive disorder (MDD), are serious medical illnesses that affect millions of people worldwide, including an estimated 20 to 25 million adults in the United States. The financial burden is huge and many don’t seek medical help and yet others simply can’t afford to pay for the much needed medication. The two disorders manifest some overlapping symptoms but they represent two separate disease entities. PTSD is more of an anxiety disorder that people acquire after exposure to traumatic or life-threatening events, such as war, rape, earthquake, hurricane, airplane crash or automobile accident. PTSD can cause problems like flashbacks, or feeling like the event is happening again, trouble sleeping or nightmares, feeling alone, angry outbursts, feeling worried, guilty or sad. Depression or MDD is a medical illness that characteristically demonstrates a significant change in an individual’s ability to function on a daily basis. The symptoms of depression include persistently sad or irritable mood, pronounced changes in sleep, appetite, and energy, difficulty thinking, concentrating, and remembering, physical slowing or agitation, lack of interest in or pleasure from activities that were once enjoyed, feelings of guilt, worthlessness, hopelessness, and emptiness, recurrent thoughts of death or suicide and persistent physical symptoms that do not respond to treatment, such as headaches, digestive disorders, and chronic pain. Although the mechanism of pathogenesis of PTSD and MDD is not very well understood, both of them have a neurobiological basis (1, 2) and they are manifested as the pathologies of the human brain, most likely because of imbalanced brain function (3). In the present study, we describe that the PTSD and depressive tendencies can be suppressed though brain training using Brain State Conditioning (BSC).

Materials and methods
We studied a total of 8 adult subjects in this pilot study. Four of these cases (all males aged 49 to 59 years) had goals to overcome manifestations of PTSD while the other four cases (2 males aged 35 to 38 years and 2 females aged 41 to 60 years) had goals to overcome depression. They all had additional goals such as improving sleep, cognitive performance, social interaction, decision making, attention and focus, drug addiction and dependency, motivation, mood stabilization, happiness and well-being, weight, pain and anger management, and physical health and balance, etc.

In this pilot study, we used Brain State Conditioning (BSC) as an innovative computer based technology for brain training. It measures brainwave energy of neuronal oscillations in real-time. The method has been outlined in a recently published book (3) and it is also described in detail in the Brain State Technology Manual (Please see www.BrainState Technologies.com). BSC utilizes a specific type of electrode, which includes a computer chip that eliminates other electromagnetic energy from producing interference in the brain energy signal being detected. BSC is the process of balancing and harmonizing the brain. Brain function is manifested in the form of electromagnetic energy which can be captured by detecting it – or listening to it – without being invasive. Brain energy can be detected from the outer scalp anywhere on the head through the use of electrodes.

We employed multiple methodologies including benchmark and comparative brain maps for each participant, questionnaires, diaries, and socio/economic data. Initial screening of subjects for study eligibility was done by telephone interview, followed by the completion of Objective Survey, PTSD Questionnaire (see below) or standard Beck’s Anxiety Inventory (BAI) and Beck’s Depression Inventory, 2nd Edition (BDI-II) (Copyright by Aaron T. Beck, 1996, The Psychological Corporation, Harcourt Brace & Company, San Antonio, Texas, USA). The PTSD Questionnaire included the following questions, which were rated on a scale of 0 to 10 (where 0 is no experience of PTSD
symptoms and 10 being the worst experience of PTSD symptoms).

1. Recurrent, intrusive thoughts about their experience
2. Nightmares
3. Flashbacks – believing as if they are back in the experience
4. Physical and/or psychological responses to triggers that remind them of the experience (i.e. feeling panicky after smelling a particular cologne)
5. Avoiding thought , feelings, conversations or people associated with the experience
6. Diminished interest in engaging with pleasurable activities or people.
7. Difficulty with memory, focus or cognitive performance
8. Difficulty falling or staying asleep
9. Irritability and/or anger outbursts
10. Depression
11. Anxiety
12. Hypervigilance – a constant watchfulness for safety.

Subjects were scheduled to come for initial assessment (45-60 min) of individualized brainmaps, followed by 4 to 6 consecutive sessions of 90 min each spread over 2-5 days. An illustration is included to show a male subject hooked up to electrodes in the Human Touch™ Perfect Chair™ (Figure 1) manufactured by the company Human Touch in Long Beach, California, USA. Subjects were asked to complete a PTSD Questionnaire or Beck’s Inventory after the final session of brain training. Various observations were stored in a computer database and/or clients files and subsequently analyzed by staff members.

Results and Discussion
The subject characteristics and their response to Brain State Conditioning (BSC) are summarized in Table 1 for PTSD and Table 2 for depression. In the present study, six out of 8 subjects were male while the other two were females. The age for the PTSD group was between 40 to 59 years whereas the age for the depression group ranged between 35 to 60 years. The objective surveys revealed that although the two groups of subjects had distinctive goals, mainly PTSD or depression, there was considerable overlap of other behavioral manifestations also. For example, the clients commonly reported lack of sleep and/or poor cognitive performance. Some also reported low level of self-confidence, physical health and balance, and social interactions. Still others reported problems of weight, pain and anger management. All participants were asked to abstain from alcohol one week before the assessment and three weeks after the last session. Before the initial assessment, all subjects completed a PTSD Questionnaire or Beck’s Inventory, which represented a baseline or pre-BSC response.

At first, the assessment of each subject revealed specific imbalance in the brain maps of these individuals, i.e. brainwave activity or energy was out of balance. Each individual has a highly personalized assessment, which was done through a sequence of montages using the International 10-20 System. Brain activity is commonly measured by electroencephalography (EEG), but we modified it to develop Brain State Conditioning (BSC) and we continue to make improvements of this technology. Brain activity is commonly displayed in terms of waveforms or brainwaves: Delta (0.5 – 3 Hz), Theta (3.0 – 7.0 Hz), Alpha (7.0 – 12.0 Hz), Low beta (12 – 16 Hz), High Beta (23 – 38 Hz) and Gamma (38 – 48 Hz). Subsequently, depending upon the characteristic brain map and individualized goals, protocols were designed to administer highly personalized brain training sessions. Subjects in the study received 4-6 sessions of about 90 min each spread over a period of 2-5 days. They then completed either the PTSD Questionnaire or Beck’s Inventory for depression and anxiety, which represented a post-BSC response.

As summarized in Table 1, all four PTSD subjects showed a considerable reduction in the PTSD score after the administration of BSC (post-BSC). The reduction in PTSD score was approximately 41%, 55%, 64% and 75% for subjects coded P1, P2, P3 and P4, respectively. This finding suggested that all four subjects responded quite favorably to BSC because lower the score means either less or no experience of PTSD behaviors. Alternatively, it can also be said that the administration of BSC suppressed or alleviated the experience of PTSD and thus there was a noticeable improvement of quality of life in these individuals by BSC.

The second group of four subjects with depression also showed positive outcomes, including reduction of Beck’s inventory scores (Table 2). The response to BSC was divided into two test scores: (i) BDI-II score for depressive behavior; and (ii) BAI score for anxiety behavior. In spite of the individual differences, all four subjects responded to BSC and showed noticeable reduction in the two test scores. The subject coded D2 showed a 43% drop in BDI-II score whereas the subjects coded D1, D3 and D4 reduced their BDI-II scores dramatically, i.e., 80 to 95% reduction post- BSC. Furthermore, all four subjects also showed considerable reduction (54 to 100%) in the BAI score. The reduction in these scores means that they all responded to BSC and overcame their depressive tendencies.

Moreover, the subjects in this study also showed considerably lower level of anxiety, substance abuse and anger management. The improvement of anger management was directly related to being less irritable after the administration of BSC. Some of the most prominent manifestations of PTSD are depression and anxiety behavior (4, 5), sleep disturbance (6), and alcoholism with or without substance abuse (7, 8). After the administration of BSC, subject in the study showed a noticeable improvement in depressive and anxiety behaviors as reflected by the resolution of stress, calmness, focused attention and reduced hyper-vigilance. Taken together, the improvement of these behaviors also improved the quality of their lives at home and at work, as well as in the society.

Psychiatric and/or psychological disorders such as PTSD, depression, stress, anxiety and anger disorders are manifested as the pathologies of the human brain (1, 2). People affected with these disorders often present overlapping symptoms while the etiology remains poorly understood. Depressive behavior is the commonest form of the behavioral problem which is clinically identified as Major Depressive Disorder (MDD). Although MDD has a common clinical presentation the symptoms vary from one patient to another, which implies that the disorder is a very heterogeneous disorder comprising of subsets or subgroups. This also means that no single treatment will be solely effective for MDD but the therapeutic strategy will require modalities for each subset or subgroup of the disorder. It should also be emphasized that the treatment of MDD is of social importance because it is the single most prevalent problem of all psychiatric disorders in the society today.

Neural networks are generally disrupted and the connectivity between neurons is generally lost. Consequently, the neurotransmitter function is impaired and nerve-impulse transmission is interrupted. Thus the brain function is modified. In this respect, the scientific evidence suggests that the ‘wiring’ in the brain influences personality as well as human behavior (9, 10). Ultimately, his all leads to imbalances in the functional brain or it can also be said that imbalance in the brain could potentially alter brain function. But these changes do not occur throughout the entire brain. Instead, they occur in localized brain regions or lobes or nuclei which are constellations of highly select groups of neurons that utilize specific type of neurotransmitters, for example serotonergic neurons use serotonin as the neurotransmitter and cholinergic neurons use acetylcholine as the neurotransmitter (11).

Furthermore, it has recently been shown that the human brain shows plasticity – it has the capacity to re-wire or re-establish neural connections by itself. This property has opened up a narrow-window of opportunity to find novel approaches to helping people who suffer from brain diseases and mental illnesses. Stemming from brainwave patterns, the mapping of the functional-brain is of paramount importance because it permits identification and characterization of neurobehavioral abnormalities that are associated with dysfunctional mental health (12, 13). In this regard, we would like to suggest that BSC is an extremely important technology because it optimizes brain function in real-time balancing.

Scientifically speaking, rapidly accumulating evidence suggests that the behavioral disorders, including PTSD and depression, have a neuroanatomical basis and/or neuropathological substrates. Patients with depression show dysfunctional neuronal systems, particularly in the prefrontal cortex, anterior cingulate cortex, temporal cortex and basal ganglia (2, 13, 14). Some MDD patients also show smaller volumes (loss of neurons) in hippocampus, which is a sign of impaired neurogenesis in the hippocampus region of the brain (15, 16). Patients with MDD consistently have low levels serotonin (17) and brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) (18), both of which also have neurotrophic effect on hippocampal neurons. Since hippocampus is the primary brain region involved in memory function, the neuronal loss in hippocampus may explain, at least in part, the memory loss or cognitive decline in patients with major depression.

Reduced level of serotonin in MDD patients suggests the involvement of serotoninergic neurons of the temporal cortex, basal ganglia and Raphe nucleus in the upper brain stem. Other neurotransmitters such as norepinephrine may also be involved (19). Moreover, patients with major depression consistently show disturbance of the body’s “biological clock” often having difficulty in falling sleep. This abnormality is directly related to the neurohormonal imbalance of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis. The HPA axis through the release of corticotrophin-releasing hormone (CRH) plays a key role in the induction of stress and anxiety behaviors (20). Childhood trauma has been found to increase HPA axis activity (21), which via CRH could potentially increase the risk of stress and anxiety disorders later on in adult life. CRH axis also plays a physiological role in the modulation of immune response and is a mediator of neuro-immune circuitry (20). Recent experimental finding showed that the immune response, in particular brain autoimmunity, could potentially represent immune trauma perhaps as prelude to developing imbalances in the human brain (22). This line of thinking could also imply that there is a biological need to optimize “neuro-immune balance” by balancing both the nervous system and the immune system (22).

In conclusion, the findings of this pilot study clearly demonstrate a positive outcome of BSC in people who suffer from PTSD and depressive behaviors. Brain training through BSC definitely impacted the quality of life of these individuals, albeit the testimonial and anecdotal nature of the observations. The results are very encouraging and should not be ignored. It is however instructive to conduct clinical studies with scientific rigor in order to demonstrate advantageous and efficacious benefits of BSC for improving health and well-being of people who constantly suffer from PTSD and depression, including those resulting from exposure to combat zones and/or war-related traumatic injuries. The evidence is quite compelling for a neural basis of dysfunctional or imbalanced brain in people with PTSD, depression and related behavioral disorders. We therefore
would like to suggest that the intervention through brain state conditioning (BSC) is a novel approach to attain balance and harmony of the brain function, thereby help people suffering from a wide spectrum of behavioral and mental health problems.

NSBT —– Q & A

Brain Training

Q. What does North Shore Brain Training do?

A. NSBT is an affiliate of Brain state Technology. NSBT provides a BST Certified trainer that can effectively assess and train any client.

Q. What is an assessment?

A. It is the process of detecting storing and then analyzing brain wave patterns using sensors on the scalp.

Q. What does Brain state technology do?

A. They are a research and development company that created the process of brain training called Brain wave Optimization with RTB tm.

Q. What is Brainwave Optimization with RTB™?

A. Brain State Technologies’ System for Brainwave Optimization with RTB™ (Real-Time Balancing) was designed for relaxation, self-regulation and meditation. Ultimately, this process produces personalized exercises to balance and optimize your brain.

Q. What does the process consist of?

A. An assessment and ten training sessions to start.

Q. How long are the sessions?

A. 1.5 and 2.o hour sessions are available

Q. Why the time difference?

A. This makes it more affordable to someone that can’t afford the extra money for the 2 hour sessions.

Q. Why does NSBT require payment at the time of the assessment?

A. There are a few reasons for this. The biggest is the time commitment that the trainer needs to complete the training. The process of Brainwave optimization with “RTB”  tm is straight forward. The client is there to train and makes the commitment to do so.

Q. Do I always have to do ten sessions at a time?

A. NSBT provides a block of 5 sessions for anyone who completes the first assessment and ten sessions.

Q. How long is the assessment effective?

A. NSBT will reference assessments for no more that 3 months.

Q. Is this Neuro-feedback.

A. Technology grows and so do the ideas of how things are done. In its fundamental description BSC (Brain State Conditioning) it is a type of Neurofeedback.  That is where it ends and Brain wave optimization begins. You are not compared to a database that spits out quantitative data resulting in a general idea of how someone should be.  Instead,  a complete look at the client and his or her present state is used to focus the training in a dynamic way and this model is flexible and changes throughout the client training.

Q. Does it hurt?

A. Only if I accidentally pull your hair putting the sensors on the scalp.

Q. I thought you use electrodes on the scalp?

A. Yes, electrodes are used. A better way to say the same thing is sensor. Sensors, like electrodes only collect data and do not send any type of energy back to the clients, scalp.

Q. Should I stop taking my medication?

A. Since I am a trainer and not a doctor  I will refrain from such discussions.

Q. After my first session I got a low grade headache. Is this a common occurrence?

A. It depends on the client. When a client trains their brain really works hard and this can cause a mild low grade headache.

Q. Do you train yourself?

A. I am my favorite client.

Q. How long have you been working with Brain State Technology?

A. I have been a trainer and affiliate since July 2007.

Q. I have a problem with my leg, can this help.

A. A very important fact is that…BST and NSBT do not claim to treat, heal or cure. I train my clients for balance, harmony and optimization using BST’s Brainwave optimization training process.

Q. Is this a placebo effect?

A. If it were a placebo than its effectiveness would be 50% instead of the 85 to 90% effectiveness.

Q. Do you tell a client how many sessions they will need?

A. I only train my clients and watch for balance. I do not tell them how to feel. If a client feels like they need to do more sessions than they let me know.

Q. When I finish my first intensive, how soon can I start another?

 A. It is recommended that clients wait some time for new pathways to integrate. Usually 2 to 3 weeks between intensives.

Recently I have had the pleasure of training a gentleman from Austria. He was quite skeptical and had alot of anxiety around it. Well this changed quite drastically on the 4th and 5thsessions. I started to see a larger shift to a happier more contented state. And instead of driving him to the local train station, he wanted to walk. You see, he was noticing the change / shift toward his goal and it gave him great joy to see this difference. Since this process is a “training process” it can vary with the amount of sessions a person needs to achieve success.

NOTE:

I spoke to a former client that went thru the training 1 year prior (8 sessions 1.5 hours per session). She had recently  noticed that the most interesting thing or “long term change”  had been the most disturbing to her before she trained. She used to feel the pain and suffering of the world on a nightly basis before going to sleep. It took her many months to even make the conscious connection that this thought process was no longer with her. The thanks was received, I was always confident a change took place because I saw it on the screen durning her training.  Balance and harmony is a powerful thing.

The Trials of Brain Training

Brain Training

Brain training, from the assessment to the 1oth session and maybe into the 30th session, it is one of personal transformation, Brain observance, focus, and intention. With some or all in place, clients can manifest anything intended with exciting and numerous outcomes. Some slight, while others are more dramatic.
Presently training now are clients ranging in age from 9 yrs. old to 74yrs. old. All clients come to NSBT for their own personal reasons.

Most clients just want to relax, reduce anxiety, focus, or reduce the chatter that haunts them. I just tell everyone that comes to see me that it is within the learning process that success sticks. The curious with no apparent goal can find the training harder to finish.

Science is now starting to see direct indications of differences in patterns of thinking with differences in brain disorders.

The uniqueness of Real time Brain balancing can be inspiring for many who seek to see themselves in a new way. Since BST’s inception, the hot social topic in the US and many foreign countries has been the brain and its plasticity. The new revelations about the inner workings of the brain lead new research into technology that can transform the lives of many people, globally.

Many people ask the same questions. What is Brain training? This can be answered in over 100 different ways. The way Brain State Technology describes their particular training is this….

“Brainwave Optimization with RTB – is based on brain observance. It is based on a Quantum Physics vs. a Newtonian Physics understanding of the individual, and this philosophical difference cannot be too heavily stressed. Brainwave Optimization with RTB seeks to show the brain itself – be a mirror for the brain in its ever more optimized state. The client is not trained with learned behavior. In fact, while not optimal, a client may sleep through a session and still realize results because the brain can view itself without direct client participation. Though it is always more effective to have the client participate, it is not mandatory.

For example, clients adversarial to the training, such as those with adolescent misbehavior or antisocial behavior issues, can still be assisted to balance and harmonize their brain and achieve a greater homeostasis.

Brainwave Optimization with RTB™ is oriented to solve problems having to do with the balance and harmony of the brain energy and is not based on comparison of the client with a normative data base. It is not based on a diagnosis or the symptoms which are presented. Brainwave Optimization with RTB™ is based on the degree of balance and harmony the brain contains and seeks to increase this balance and harmony.”

Stumbled upon Mr. Humble and MMS

Uncategorized

“The statement below is my story and in no way am I affiliated with any product or company described in it. I feel that this info can provide others with a first hand account of my use of the Miracle Mineral Supplement and what it did for me and my family.”

There is always something to read on the Internet. I can find the best information and the most ridiculous. It is the sheer bulk of presentations made to explain somewhat the same things that has me blogged. I recently saw a video that interviewed an elderly gentleman named Jim Humble. His interview can be viewed Here. After watching it, I could not resist reading his book; it spurred my imagination and curiosity. I thought to my self “More great Sci-Fi stuff to read”. As I read his book though, I became aware of his intention and purpose. It was unnerving to me to see that there was actual validity to his book.

Well one thing for sure, he says the same things in different parts of the book and for a while I could not understand why. Now I understand. Most people don’t want to print a three hundred page book let alone read it. So printing chapters is easy and in this case he repeats and references vital usage info in the most popular chapters. His information is broken down this way. He provides a DVD video, a hardcover book, and a two part eBook that allows you to read the first part for free and the second you can download and costs under 15 dollars US.  I read the eBook and printed it. It has become a reference for the staff @ work.

I could not help but order this “MMS”. So we bought 1 kit at around 25 US dollars from this company HERE. Even though I was not presently sick I wanted to test the validity of Jim Humbles claim for myself. Since it is winter, and since my four year old brings home all sorts of sickness from her school, it is good to have something that can protect me also from being sick all winter long. So after waiting impatiently for the bottle to arrive, it showed up 7 days later at my door and I was ready. I followed the directions but with one major change. I wanted to test the effectiveness, so instead of taking the MMS every 12 hours I took it every 24 hours. This would allow me to judge the difference for myself of how I felt on and off of the MMS.

After about a week of taking the MMS and basically driving my wife crazy talking about it, she blew me off and did not want to hear my excitement anymore. Until about one week later she could not bare the pain of a sore throat. So I mixed up 4 drops of the MMS and followed Jim Humbles instructions in his book and used apple juice as the mix. Now, my wife had no problem taking it because I didn’t die from taking a 15 drop dose of MMS daily, but my wife’s pain was so great that she could not sleep and agreed to try anything. about 20 minutes after drinking the mix she fell asleep and slept all night long. The next morning she was able to eat and drink with no discomfort. I was impressed at this point because not only did it help my wife but I noticed that my acid reflux had been gone since the day I started taking the MMS.  As for my coworker, her sinus drained 3 days and a sholder pain dissapeared after starting the MMS regiment.

So now that I have tested this MMS stuff I can be confident that the only side effect of any sort is, if you do not read how to use the MMS you risk taking too much too fast and your body will remind you who is the boss.

Now for the best result yet…My four year old had contracted Croup. She was barking every few minutes. As a parent I can’t help but feel her pain. Should MMS come to her rescue? How was I going to get my (I only eat waffles) child to drink the MMS when I know what it tastes like and can only say “Yuk”. With my daughter I started to refer to the MMS as dad’s magic drink that can help make you feel better. Well, she was ready. I used 2 drops of MMS and 10 drops of 10% Citric acid. Mixed it with warm apple cider and she drank the whole 4 oz.  and within 2 hours her Croup cough was gone…Yes I can say with all honesty that her Croup cough was gone. I was more surprised that she was able to drink the mix and not even taste the MMS.

After experiencing MMS, I can only say one thing to anyone that reads this Post…..”Read Jim Humbles book” all 300 pages. find out for yourself as I did. Do not attempt to use it without the knowledge of how to use it correctly. It is a powerful mineral with great potential.

The most interesting thing to me was that the main ingredient to MMS has been around for 100 years and is in wide use today cleaning all of the meats we consume. This would make it FDA approved already, for now at least. As soon as the big pharmaceutical companies start loosing money, they will start to spend millions of dollars to stop the spread of cheap health care. Remember they are in the business of keeping you alive not curing you. There is no profit if someone could take something once. They want you to stay alive so you can buy more of what they sell. That is the one major downside of Capitalism. This has the potential to cure the Healthcare crisis. We will see.

Cheers…

North Shore Brain Training

Brain Training

As my research for a way to correct issues in my life progressed, it took me deeper and deeper into the fields of biofeedback and ultimately neurofeedback training of my brain. After looking into many different modalities I came across, second generation neurofeedback.  I found that I was able to function at a much higher level after only a few sessions. At this point I knew that I had found a way to help my brain correct itself with limited verbal effort. This training opened options that were always there but never reached because of limitations I had somehow learned during my youth that were unproductive. These were not skills but, a series of brain patterns that had been created out of trauma. These patterns, although needed at the time, are no longer needed in my life now. When training I realized I was able to control my brain like never before. Many minor obstacles fell away to reveal themselves to be actually no obstacle at all. My thinking was clear and for the first time manageable.

New Book “Limitless You” By Lee Gerdes

Brain Training

Excerpt from the Book

The Infinite Possibilities of a Balanced Brain

to Brain State affiliates all over the planet,
who seek well-being for everyone they touch;
and mostly, for the approximately 10,000 people
around the world who have utilized brain training
in their search for well-being and to help
optimize their lives—you have honored us
by allowing us to be of assistance.

I n t ro d u c t i o n

We have known for a long time that a connection exists between mind, body, and spirit, but now we can observe this connection. We can see it at work through technology, and more important, we can actually improve the way it functions. The brain acts as the hub of the wheel of our life. The nervous system can be likened to the spokes of a wheel, while the body is the rim. When the hub is out of balance, everything else is affected.Instead of enjoying a relatively smooth and almost effortless ridethrough life, our days are often marked by drama and trauma. This book introduces a modality known as Brain State Conditioning ™, which is widely referred to as brain training and is oriented toward solving problems related to brain energy. Brain training isn’t based on diagnosis and neither is it concerned with any symptoms a client may be suffering. Rather, its focus is on the degree of balance and harmony the brain experiences, plus the flexibility it demonstrates when it moves from being at rest to being activated. This is quite
different from modalities that compare a person’s brain with a normative database and then try to teach the individual to bring their brain functioning up to par with the average brain.
When we talk about balance, we are talking about how the brain’s activity is balanced from one hemisphere of the brain to the other, and also how the different regions of the brain balance with each
other between the front and back of the same side of the brain. Brain training facilitates brain balance. It’s like loading a ship so that it’s level on the ocean. When we talk about harmony, we are referring to how energy patterns that vary from low to high exist together in the same region of the brain.

If you have ever driven an automobile with one or more tires
out of balance, you know the shimmy and shake that an out-ofbalance
condition can produce. Well, it’s no different in life when
the brain has one or more of its regions out of balance. In such a
condition, it simply isn’t possible to live a life of excellence.
When the brain is balanced and in harmony, it can have a
dramatic effect on both the mind and the body. For this reason,
brain balance and harmony can be a helpful step to a state of wellbeing
and optimum performance.
When the brain is balanced and in harmony, people involved in
sports are much more likely to achieve optimum performance in terms
of speed, strength, and so on.Writers, musicians, and artists achieve
greater creativity and artistic expression. Individuals who feel
stuck—who realize they aren’t living up to their full potential but don’t
know how to let their true being out—often advance to gratifying
business endeavors. Whatever a person’s walk of life, they can gain
clarity about their life’s journey.

A Chance to Take Charge of Your Life
Brain training doesn’t require willpower. Instead, it uses brainpower.
Our society is wedded to the idea that we all have free will and
simply need to make good choices then stick to them. We have
drunk so deeply of this philosophy that we don’t realize how
limited a person’s ability to make good decisions is when their brain
is in an unbalanced state. Individuals also tend to lack the willpower
to engage in the difficult and often ongoing struggle it takes to
change an entrenched pattern of behavior. For instance, countless
people with the best of intentions tell themselves, “I’m going to stop
smoking.” They recognize quitting their habit would make a
tremendous improvement in their life. But those who attempt this
find it isn’t easy, and many fail despite repeated efforts. For most of
us, it requires more than willpower.
Using brainpower to change our lives takes the struggle out of
it. It’s all about achieving self-improvement from a place of deep
calm. Our brain learns to function in a more wholistic way.
One client tells how she actually experienced the difference: “I
thought education was about information; I thought discipline was
about control; I thought procrastination was about willpower; and
I thought stopping bad habits and behavior was supposed to be hard,
and sustaining new behavior even harder. I was wrong. It isn’t about
willpower, it’s about brainpower. I was at a crossroads. I was smoking
and felt like the rat who couldn’t learn. My daughter told me that, as
an intelligent woman, I should be embarrassed to end up dying from
a preventable disease. But I had tried everything and could not stop.
It took me a few hours of training to stop smoking, but it took me
nearly thirty-five years to find the technology that helped me stop.”
A brain that’s balanced and in harmony is in a state known as
homeostasis. The term is derived from two Greek words, homoios
meaning “same” and stasis meaning “stand.” In a state of homeostasis,
conditions stay the same. It’s a state in which the brain functions
on a level playing field, which enables it to respond to life’s
challenges in an optimal manner. When the brain is in homeostasis,
thinking, feeling, performing, and the body’s ability to repair
itself all function at their best and self-regulate based on what they
are called upon to do at any given moment.
Brain training is potentially a life-changing tool, serving as an
adjunct to other modalities with the objective of helping these
modalities achieve what they seek to accomplish by first bringing
the person into a state of self-regulation. Also, when used as a noninvasive
information-gathering tool, as a means of exposing causes
and effects, brain training illuminates the path to how countless
disorders might be corrected more quickly and more completely.
Brain training is a revolutionary way to break free from our
limiting history. It allows retraining of the imbalances in the brain
to help correct various disorders without negative side effects or
invasive procedures.
Doctors are told, “First, do no harm,” but unfortunately, many
of the pharmaceuticals and procedures currently in use have devastating
side effects for some. Brain training is a tool to help “do no
harm.” It isn’t the only answer, but I believe it is part of the solution—
a part that may be the missing link when it comes to ADHD,
sleep issues, postmenopausal problems, depression, anxiety, pain
management, addiction, and the quest for optimum performance.
Take addiction, which is often seen as difficult to change, but for
brain training poses no greater challenge than any of the other dysfunctions
many of us experience from day to day. After an addict does brain
training to balance and harmonize their brain patterns, they are
unlikely to desire their addiction. Their brain can be assessed and
trained, often with stunning results. For example, in an efficacy trial
with probationers in Yavapai County, Arizona, brain training made
it possible for repeat offenders with long histories of addiction, including
prolonged methamphetamine use, to begin a new life. Even
though the trial participants remained in constant contact with other
addicts, after the first year more than eighty-five percent remained
substance free. After three years, of the participants surveyed, more
than seventy-five percent were still substance free—an astounding
accomplishment compared with conventional approaches.
The process is simple, and it works with other conditions and
disorders with the same glaring simplicity.
How Brain Training Was Discovered
People who have trained their brain often want to know about my
background. How did I come up with this simple yet powerful
modality?
I wasn’t a doctor or even a brain researcher; I was a computer
geek. Most of my life revolved around computer science, though
my background did include a degree in theology and extensive
work in psychology as well as math and physics.
As Vice President of Solutions for Net Perceptions in Minneapolis,
I was consulting and designing software along with developing
algorithms for marketing. In essence, an algorithm is a formula,
and the Net Perceptions algorithms linked similar products or concepts
to individuals. Our first customer was Amazon.com, which
licensed technology that notes the kind of books a person buys
then suggests other books they might also enjoy. You’ve probably
seen the recommendation, “If you liked … you may like …” Our
original Net Perceptions algorithms are still widely used in today’s
marketplace.
We were a successful company whose stock was climbing when
web-based stocks suddenly fell dramatically in a general collapse of
web-based businesses at that time. Such businesses were often greatly
overvalued because people’s expectations of what a web-based
business could achieve were inflated. When it became clear that many
of these businesses weren’t going to be profitable, investors started
pulling their money out, leading to widespread panic.
However, Net Perceptions had already proven successful, so our
initial response during the crisis was to find still wider uses for
our technology. I headed up a team that built a business-to-business
application whereby we could assist, for example, an electrical store
that stocked tens of thousands of parts to achieve a much more
efficient turnover of its stock. When a contractor comes in to order
parts, our algorithm figures out what parts they might have
overlooked so they won’t have to return for them at a later date.
Through all of this, I was gaining increasing proficiency in software
design, having worked in the software field since the sixties.
I was suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. To try to alleviate
this condition, I sought out one healing modality after another.
Though I went through a raft of treatments in addition to extensive
psychotherapy, such treatments were of only limited help. Though
to some degree they alleviated my physical condition, they were unable
to affect the edge I was on all the time.Anyone could press my buttons
and evoke a lightening-fast response—a response out of proportion
to what was appropriate, and a huge waste of emotional energy.
Alongside my fascination with computer software development,
I had a deep interest in science, especially quantum mechanics. The
development of brain training was, in a way, an accident. Among
the more helpful therapies I had tried were biofeedback and
neurofeedback. Suddenly, it occurred to me how the insights of
quantum mechanics, teamed with highly sophisticated computer
technology, could enable an individual to go so much further than
was possible with either biofeedback or neurofeedback.
It was only when I tried training my own brain with the first
technology and protocols I developed that I finally felt better. After
benefitting from the technique for some weeks, I set it aside, never
imagining it would someday help thousands of people.
My son began having problems during the usual rebellious stage
of the teen years. Falling in with a tough crowd, he left school, experienced
some difficulties with a girlfriend, and was rapidly going
downhill toward a dysfunctional life. I believed he could benefit from
the brain training I had used on myself, so I essentially bribed him
to give it a try. I sent him a computer, amplifier, and electrodes. The
effect was stunning. He cleaned up his life, returned to school, and
immediately made the dean’s list.
With my encouragement, my son then tried the technique on
several other people, which made him not only my first real client but
also my first trainer. It was his success, along with the success of his
friends, that spurred us to make the training available to other people
and led me to leave Net Perceptions. Now, thousands have found a
way out of their self-limiting prisons by utilizing brain training. All
it took was balancing their brainwave patterns.
From Simple to Sophisticated
Brain training began with a mobile office. I hauled a computer and
electronics in the back of my car. Volunteers were trained in their
home, and the data we collected relative to the brain’s response was
used to refine the algorithms.
I had properties in Montana, Minneapolis, and Florida. I sold
these and emptied my 401K. It was enough to set up the
equipment required; still, I had a high level of anxiety over whether
I was going to run out of money. I recall telling myself, “The universe
is going to have to take it from here.”
I moved to Scottsdale, Arizona, and my son and I lived together
in a rented home with a bedroom on each side of the house. We set
up a third bedroom as a lab and used the family room for research.
We couldn’t afford to pay our first associate; she came to work with
us gratis until we could begin to reward her for her effort.
I can’t tell you exactly how brain training started to mushroom;
it just did. It was all by word of mouth, as people saw the lives of
others change. At first many came to us who didn’t have the financial
means. They came because nothing else had worked for them
and hence they had nothing to lose.
A few months later we were busier than we could have ever
imagined. We moved to an office space, then we relocated to an
even larger facility, and finally we moved into our current 18,000
square foot facility, still located in Scottsdale.
When brain training began, the technology was rudimentary
compared to what we use today. We had 160 gigabytes of data storage
capacity at startup, whereas at the time of this writing we have
18 terabytes. For the first three years, brainwaves were sampled at
a rate of 128 samples per second, each with 256 bits of information.
Now, 256 samples are taken every second, each with over 65,000
bits of information. This yields a vastly increased quantity of data,
making brain training even more effective. We continually refine
the technique based on the data we receive from over 10,000 clients,
which comes to us online every twenty-four hours from more than
a hundred and thirty licensees in over fifteen countries. This daily
influx of data continues to inform our brain training protocols.
In case you are wondering what a brain training protocol is
exactly, it consists of information fed back to the brain based on
data collected by electrodes placed tactically on various areas of a
person’s head. Each brain training protocol is individually
designed, and can last anywhere from five minutes to thirty minutes.
A training session consists of approximately five to seven
protocols, lasting in all about an hour and forty-five minutes.
A person can participate in two training sessions a day, with at least
two hours in between sessions to allow the brain to rest from the
reorganizing of itself it has been doing during the earlier session.
A Technological Boom
Brain activity is manifested in electromagnetic energy, which can
be measured. This energy is measured through tiny detection
devices placed on the head. These brain energy detection devices
are sophisticated forms of electrodes that contain a computer chip
capable of picking up the tiny current of the brain in an entirely
noninvasive manner. The brainwaves detected are replicated in a
variety of colorful waveforms on a computer screen. The underlying
science is electroencephalography (EEG).
Technologically speaking, when we examine brain functioning,
we are looking at energy measured in the range of ten-millionths
of a volt. With such an infinitesimal quantity of energy powering
the brain, you can imagine how little it takes to cause interference.
Detecting brain energy accurately, without interference, is far more
delicate even than attempting to thread a needle when you are
shaking from the chills!
Brain training utilizes a specific type of electrode that includes
computer chips designed to eliminate other electromagnetic energy
that might result in interference in the signals being detected. This
is sophisticated hardware, which is coupled with highly sophisticated
software. In fact, the developers who designed this software for us
previously worked on supercomputers and devised a program that
could build a molecule based on the characteristics they wanted the
molecule to possess. To come up with even a sketch of such a molecule
took six scientists two years, but the computer was able to build it
in only two weeks. At that time, the supercomputer was the equivalent
of running 100,000 desktop computers simultaneously. The
computer technology used in brain training is facilitating advancements
far beyond our understanding, but it isn’t necessary for us
to fully understand how it works in order to utilize this technology.
In terms of building a brain training protocol in the future, the
computer will make so many calculations from all the information
it collects from the brain that we couldn’t duplicate it in a lifetime
of working with a desk calculator.
Intellectrodes™, coupled with other technological advances, are
opening the way for us to see brain energy in 3,000 times the detail
we could previously access. Imagine that we have gone from seeing
the brain’s energy with a ten-power microscope to seeing it with a
30,000-power microscope! Such detail will facilitate many new discoveries
about how the brain works, allowing us to generate protocols
that are more and more specific to the individual.
In other words, it’s as if at one point we were looking at a
mountain, then boulders on the mountain, then rocks that make
up the boulders, and finally we are moving into seeing the energy
that holds the rocks together. Or to use another analogy, it’s the
difference between looking at sugar cubes, granulated sugar,
and powdered sugar. Consequently, if a woman with blue eyes and
auburn hair were to come in for training, we might speculate from
her brain map that she’s really a blue-eyed blond. Think about this
kind of breakdown of data in terms of pain management, for
instance. Instead of having to address a wider region of the brain,
we will be able to focus on the exact frequency in the brain where
the discomfort is occurring.
As our technology advances, making it possible to look at
smaller and smaller parts of brainwave frequencies, and as we collect
more and more information in our data base to furnish us with
an ongoing learning capability, it will become exponentially easier
for us to achieve our potential as humans.
All of this has led me to wonder what we could do with the
mind if our brain was truly its faithful servant. What would we
become aware of if our brain was finely balanced?
Exploration of the brain is one of the cutting edge sciences on
the planet today. The brain is the new frontier, and investigating
this inner space is one of the most fascinating and rewarding
adventures we will ever take. This book will give you some idea of
the amazing achievements that are already possible with our
present understanding of the brain.

If your brain is balanced and harmonized you are at your best?

Brain Training

Do you know of anything in life that is NOT at its best when it is balanced and harmonized?

The brain and the body are no exception. If you have ever driven an automobile which had one or more tires greatly out of balance, you know the shimmy and shake that the out-of-balance condition can produce when the speed gets too great. It is no different in life when the brain has one or more of its areas out of balance.

Brain balance and harmony is the first step to well being and optimization. Balance in the brain, is subsequently followed by balance in the body. The condition of balance and harmony for the brain is known as homeostasis. It is a “level playing field” for your brain to respond to thinking, feeling, and healing your body in an optimized state. Your brain acts as the hub of the wheel, your nervous system the spokes and your body the rim. When the hub is out of balance everything else suffers.

Brain State Conditioning™ is an individually tailored process of balancing and harmonizing the brain. Brain function is manifested in electromagnetic energy which can be captured by detecting it – or listening to it – without being invasive. Brain energy can be detected from the outer scalp at specific points on the head using Sensors. Ultimately, this process produces personalized exercises to balance and optimize your brain

US MARINE WITH SYMPTOMS OF PTSD SAYS HE HAS FOUND RELIEF

Brain Training

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
June 2, 2008
Nation wide release through PRWire Service

Corporal Francisco Estrada says he is no longer suffering from night sweats and flashbacks, thanks to a new technology called Brain State Conditioning™. Cpl Estrada claims that after three tours in Iraq, he came home a very angry person. “I was verbally and emotionally abusive to my family and friends,” he said. His wife and father-in-law finally told him he had to get some help and that they had heard of a program that is helping vets for free. Estrada says he was skeptical at first, but agreed and said that he could notice changes right away. As Estrada puts it, “I’m grateful that I did because it’s helped me turn my life around. I’m not an angry person anymore. I don’t have night sweats. I don’t have flashbacks. I don’t find myself driving defensively. I’m happy. My family is happy again.”

Estrada says he has also noticed that he drives differently, and has been able to react to people and situations in a much calmer manner. He tells a story of one of his co-workers. “A guy at work who has referred to me as a murderer for what I did for my country… I can remember a time when I would have attacked him. I would have hurt him severely. But, because of everything this program has done for me, I didn’t. I was able to laugh him off and continue on with my day.”

The technology is completely non-invasive, and the process is relatively passive for the soldier. The soldier does not have to talk to a therapist or recount any of the traumatic events. Brain State Technologies offers their services to combat veterans as a way to give back to those who have given so much for our country.

Thank you for giving me a fresh start

Brain Training

Phoenix, AZ
“How do I begin to thank you for giving me back my life?”

S.K. told us: “I have been depressed, in one form or another, for most of my adult life. Years of therapy and antidepressant use have helped at various times, but the underlying feelings of hopelessness and helplessness never really went away. I came to Brain State Technologies as a last resort. My marriage was crumbling and my children avoided telling me anything they thought would upset me. I felt that I lived my life walking on egg shells.

After the first session, I was feeling more hopeful than I could ever remember feeling. Family and friends started commenting that I seemed different…. I smiled more. After the 7th session I was thinking clearly, focusing on my writing and interacting with my family in a new and healthy way. My husband and I are working at reestablishing the marriage we once had.

Thank you for giving me a fresh start.”

What’s the buzz on the internet and in the media…. It’s Brain Training, the concept is straight forward but the way it is being preformed is not always as cut and dry .

  • Lets take the fast track gamer and let them buy a device like Nintendo. This can be a solution for those people who love that type of game play.
  • Lets spend many thousands of dollars working with neuro scientists with there bell curves and average joe thinking.
  • Lets do cognitive exercises that put you in competition that is based on accuracy, speed of response, and the focus you maintain throughout a given web based exercise.

The List goes on and on…. It seems everyone wants you to train your brain.

Well, I am no exception.

Armed With a newly coined term created by Brain State Technologies (BST), called “Brain State Conditioning” I have found in myself the true meaning of calm and quiet. This new and novel approach to brain training looks toward States of energy in ratios around the brain. No more will I be compared to a bell curve of thousands of strangers. An individual approach is what I needed.

As a BST Trainer, I have seen brain energy move into balance and harmony thus allowing my clients and myself increased options. Brain State Technologies is synonymous with Balance and Harmony because the mathematical models they use are based on the brain mappings of two meditation masters that have optimized and balanced there brains for 8 hours a day over 40 years.

How do I describe a sense of quiet never felt. A wind of focus to allow me to effortlessly complete tasks that were tough for me before. A sense of calm when dealing with a 3 yr old child. These are a few things I can say that have manifested from my BST training. My ADHD was always looming over me for as long as I can remember. Well no more do I interrupt people speaking, talk about 10 subjects in 4 sentences, start a sentence in the middle or speak so fast no one can understand me. Those days are over. My main goal has been met by my BST training and now I am on to bigger and better things.

“For everyone there is a path that can lead them to a better way. I have found that way and now I share it with everyone”. G.P.A North Shore Brain Training

Success in Helping with an eating disorder

Brain Training, Business Related General

This is from 33 y.o. anorexic who has had 8 hospitalizations since age 17, her last was a 6 week stay in a residential to the tune of probably around $40,000. She had her brain trained by one of BST’s latest affiliate , 10 sessions, and finished about a month ago.

“I’m doing incredibly well. I would say that almost every area of my life has improved. I have increased motivation, a more calm demeanor and fewer nervous “ticks”.

The biggest deal is my eating. I’m NOT OBSESSED about my weight or about food. I went to Iowa for Easter and for lunch one day hamburgers were being served. I do NOT eat beef and haven’t for over 15 years. My relatives have appeased me for years and fixed me something with which I was comfortable eating. This time, I decided to eat what was being served, try to blend in and just be more “normal”. I can choke down beef. I did it in treatment. However, this time, it wasn’t a struggle. It’s as if I could just be in the situation as it was without a fight.

Now, I have no intention of eating beef/pork when I don’t have to, but I had almost no anxiety response when beef was presented and I didn’t worry about the hamburger after I ate it. To me, that’s phenomenal. I don’t love my body or never think about it, but the thoughts are fleeting, rather than obsessions.

Many other things have changed, but the food issues are the most significant. Thanks for everything. Also, if my experience can help others, please feel free to share it with anyone.”

Brain training story of success

Brain Training

Lisa B. the latest client to complete an intensive session has left these parting words for me to post on the Blog for her.

  • Before BSC Training ” I felt I was at a point in life when it became difficult to allow the decisions ive made to play out. I was feeling lethargic and experiencing memory loss (short term). I felt self-conscious about interpersonal relationships, especially when it came to any issues that needed confronting”.
  • After BSC training ” My memory is sharper, I can retain information better. Foucus is getting much better, anxiety has lessoned. I feel an overall sense of well-being & calm. I am motovated to achieve more, clearer about making decisions, and knowing weather choices are in my best intrest or not. Allowing myself inner guidance & following that without second guessing myself always”.

Brain State Conditioning

Brain Training

What is Brain State Conditioning, It has been reguarded as Neurofeedback in some circles.  Quoting a recent note from CEO Lee Gerdes “BSC is not neurofeedback as it is traditionally practiced”

BSC is not:

“Based on the same things”

“Done for the same purpose”

“Does not utilize the same practices”

BSC is different, we do brain balance and harmony work and not neurofeedback.

This is why I got involved in training myself and others. It’s the clear distinction of something new, “out of the box”. A way of thinking that makes sence in this complex world.

What is Brain State Conditioning? It’s simple, It’s Balance and Harmony….

Indianapolis Training Success

Brain Training

Small miracles are happening at Brain Balance of Indianapolis.  J., a 40 year old woman, has been partcipating in Brain State Conditioning TM sessions in our office for the past 2 weeks.

J. came to the office in a wheel chair not being able to speak, walk, stand or balance and her right hand and foot is curled and not very usable. She had a car accident and drowned after being ejected into water in 2002.  She was resuscitated but remained in a coma for 6 months.

After 2 weeks of sessions, J. is standing up from her wheelchair on her own.  She took a step on her own at home.  Although still difficult, some of her family members can understand a few words she is trying to say now.  She can also adjust herself in bed and roll a little side to side where before she couldn’t.  J. has had a lot of trauma release during these sessions.

The recent Brain State Conditioning (BSC) sessions have been successful in balancing and harmonizing J’s brainwaves.  As J’s brain becomes more balanced by this training it will be easier for J to intergrate goals and acomplish more in life.  J’s goal is to fully walk and talk soon.  With her determination and using BSC as a tool to balance and harmonize. J will grow in ways that would have never been possible without Brain State Conditioning.

Brain Training 101

Brain Training

When Training your brain at NSBT it is a rule of thumb to never drink during the duration of your training. The intensive training can vary from 4 to 14 days, this will depend on the  schedule you work out with NSBT. It is always good to take vitamins and an omega 3 fatty acid to promote good brain health. Most trainers will also recommend other holistic products that can help produce maximum results for trainees. Moving toward a balanced state of mind is a different experience for everyone. One common feeling is, felling better than you did before you started training. One fact is, I know I feel better than I ever did before.

Where to stay

Business Related General

When clients come to visit NSBT for intensive training the question arises, where can I stay when I am working an Intensive program. First, an intensive at North Shore Brain Training will usually consist of 1 assessment and 8 training sessions of 1.5 hours per session. This can span from 4 to 7 days, depending on your situation. Out-of-towner’s can stay at the Roslyn Claremont hotel. This is about 10 a minute drive from us. As for car rentals you can search the Areaguide.net for pricing and availability. While here on LI you will be about 25 miles from Manhattan. So you can plan a visit before or after your training. All intensive training is done from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm, so the rest of your day can be spent doing or not doing anything you want. Driving Directions from Roslyn to Sea Cliff. For the long Islander, training is just a drive to the North shore of the Island in Sea Cliff which is North Nassau county. Located between Glen Cove and Glen Head. Trainers Message

Brain Training

As a brain trainer I have seen the subtle changes that have made profound differences in my clients lives.  A recent client told me that she looked in a mirror and liked what she saw. This had not happened in a very long time. Even though she is on medication she was unable to see how beautiful she really was until BST’s technology balanced and harmonized her brain waves :-P
