NSBT —– Q & A

Q. What does North Shore Brain Training do?

A. NSBT is an affiliate of Brain state Technology. NSBT provides a BST Certified trainer that can effectively assess and train any client.

Q. What is an assessment?

A. It is the process of detecting storing and then analyzing brain wave patterns using sensors on the scalp.

Q. What does Brain state technology do?

A. They are a research and development company that created the process of brain training called Brain wave Optimization with RTB tm.

Q. What is Brainwave Optimization with RTB™?

A. Brain State Technologies’ System for Brainwave Optimization with RTB™ (Real-Time Balancing) was designed for relaxation, self-regulation and meditation. Ultimately, this process produces personalized exercises to balance and optimize your brain.

Q. What does the process consist of?

A. An assessment and ten training sessions to start.

Q. How long are the sessions?

A. 1.5 and 2.o hour sessions are available

Q. Why the time difference?

A. This makes it more affordable to someone that can’t afford the extra money for the 2 hour sessions.

Q. Why does NSBT require payment at the time of the assessment?

A. There are a few reasons for this. The biggest is the time commitment that the trainer needs to complete the training. The process of Brainwave optimization with “RTB”  tm is straight forward. The client is there to train and makes the commitment to do so.

Q. Do I always have to do ten sessions at a time?

A. NSBT provides a block of 5 sessions for anyone who completes the first assessment and ten sessions.

Q. How long is the assessment effective?

A. NSBT will reference assessments for no more that 3 months.

Q. Is this Neuro-feedback.

A. Technology grows and so do the ideas of how things are done. In its fundamental description BSC (Brain State Conditioning) it is a type of Neurofeedback.  That is where it ends and Brain wave optimization begins. You are not compared to a database that spits out quantitative data resulting in a general idea of how someone should be.  Instead,  a complete look at the client and his or her present state is used to focus the training in a dynamic way and this model is flexible and changes throughout the client training.

Q. Does it hurt?

A. Only if I accidentally pull your hair putting the sensors on the scalp.

Q. I thought you use electrodes on the scalp?

A. Yes, electrodes are used. A better way to say the same thing is sensor. Sensors, like electrodes only collect data and do not send any type of energy back to the clients, scalp.

Q. Should I stop taking my medication?

A. Since I am a trainer and not a doctor  I will refrain from such discussions.

Q. After my first session I got a low grade headache. Is this a common occurrence?

A. It depends on the client. When a client trains their brain really works hard and this can cause a mild low grade headache.

Q. Do you train yourself?

A. I am my favorite client.

Q. How long have you been working with Brain State Technology?

A. I have been a trainer and affiliate since July 2007.

Q. I have a problem with my leg, can this help.

A. A very important fact is that…BST and NSBT do not claim to treat, heal or cure. I train my clients for balance, harmony and optimization using BST’s Brainwave optimization training process.

Q. Is this a placebo effect?

A. If it were a placebo than its effectiveness would be 50% instead of the 85 to 90% effectiveness.

Q. Do you tell a client how many sessions they will need?

A. I only train my clients and watch for balance. I do not tell them how to feel. If a client feels like they need to do more sessions than they let me know.

Q. When I finish my first intensive, how soon can I start another?

 A. It is recommended that clients wait some time for new pathways to integrate. Usually 2 to 3 weeks between intensives.
